THE BRIEF
To construct a stylish, modern country cottage featuring a host of custom design features including concave wrap around verandahs, exposed internal roof trusses, plantation shutters, windows and doors, fireplace, kitchen, vanities and laundry. Each of these elements contributed to the stylish atmosphere generated by the home and were all manufactured by Strongbuild in its custom joinery workshop to exact specifications. Subtle use of recycled timber in the fireplace mantle and exposed roof trusses provided the rustic visual link necessary to complete the country element of the design. The construction took 6 months to complete in 2005.
